IX. The Wizard's Council
The Wizard's Council is equivalent to what we know to be the Ministry of Magic, only it is much more secluded, not many know of it, and it's smaller. However, it is London's first Wizarding Government and thus very important. Aside from what you know about the Wizard's Council already, having read the plot, there are other important bits of information to keep in mind.[/blockquote]
- The Wizard's Council was not formed to protect The Good from the Dark Arts, but its sole purpose was to set down a set of laws in order to insure safety amongst the Wizarding Population in London against Guillotine.
- The Wizard's Council is made up of a three sections: The Department of Law Enforcement, the Department of Magical International Communication and Cooperation, and the Department of Mysteries.
- The Department of Law Enforcement: This Department focuses on creating, setting, and following laws that will help reach their goals of magical protection. Members of this department may also participate in court trials, call court trials, host court trials, and speak to the general public should they need any help. Members of this department have a very difficult job, however feasible.
- The Department of Magical International Communication and Cooperation: Members of this department interact with other countries, however very few there are. The interaction is vital for alliances, news from other countries can help influence their own decisions, as well as help if it is ever required.
- The Department of Mysteries: The most protected department, members of this department are some of the most powerful wizards and witches in London, in order to protect their secrets. This may include any prophecies, magical items, the Wizarding Records, and more that are not meant to be seen by the public eye, let alone even some of the Council's members themselves.
- The Departments are not separated by rooms, but rather sections on the floor. The first two departments make up about two-thirds of the first floor, one department works on each side of the large room, where small offices and tables are set up. The Department of Mysteries, however, is kept in the musky basement, however it is protected.
- Aurors are the equivalent to our modern day FBI Agent. Aurors go off on missions/quests in order to achieve a certain goal set by the Minister of Magic. Most of these are dangerous and rarely do Aurors travel by themselves, typically in groups of two or three. Aurors work in the Department of Law Enforcement.
